Sarah volunteered with HopeLink of Southern Nevada through her neighborhood women’s club.

The group of 6 women was charged with wrapping more than 400 donated toys and gifts for the Candy Cane Kids program last December.

One of the mothers of a family that was to receive gifts arrived at HopeLink of Southern Nevada during the ‘wrapping session.’ As she entered the conference room to pick up the two large bags filled with gifts, Sarah noticed the mother’s silent tears streaming down her cheeks. Sarah approached the woman to quietly ask if she was okay. The mother explained that she was grateful and moved by not only the gifts, but the roomful of strangers working diligently to ensure that her children had a wonderful Christmas morning. That human connection of gratitude between the two women is something that Sarah says she will never forget.
